I just got home and had a quick dinner, checked some RSS feeds, went through my emails and decided write a little more about my idea i posted earlier today.
First of all, I can’t say too much about it, but I’ve been thinking about some other aspects of the Client, which would mean that a completely new type of tracker would be made. If not only that, maybe even a separate application for creating .torrent file. Maybe it sounds all messed up, but generally my idea is to have the exact same File as all others in this network. Normally we have a tracker show various versions of the same file (quality, codec, size, ripper, etc), but why not try to have the same file for all?
Alright, this can be hard for some file formats, but I think its a very interesting approach, and probably possible too. As of now this idea is about only one file format (category).
Secondly, privacy is an issue, and therefor a newer protocol would be essential to keep us away from those who wants to hurt us. I read an article on TorrentFreak about TiAMO (The Pirate Bay) and some other developers working on a new BitTorrent Tracker which is a Open Source project. Too bad that the site that holds more information about the tracker is down at the moment. [securep2p.net]
Maybe this is the kind of tracker I’m looking for, who knows.
I will stop posting things about this here, until I find more information for my researching, because I can feel that my technical knowledge about the behind-the-scenes of p2p software and trackers is limited, even though I’m a very technical guy, but I strongly believe that this type of thing that is going through my head is possible, question is just how.

Last week I had this great idea of a p2p filesharing application (client), and when I got home from work I started my research to see if there wasn’t one already out there. So after several hours I came to the conclusion that no-one had the same thing, or even a similar app I was brainstorming on.
I’ve spent several hours during the days adding functionalities and technology to it, but this is only on paper so far. The problem I got now is that I don’t know anyone that can code in C++, which is the desired programming language at this time. But at the same time I’m looking at other languages for Mac and Linux based systems too.. but I would rather start off with with a windows version to see if it goes smooth.
Basically, we got the normal BitTorrent clients and other filesharing applications out there, and I personally use µTorrent myself, but the one I want doesn’t exist, because no other client has those feature I’m looking for. And I really think that others would see this as a way forward in the p2p community. So many things to think about when it comes to the client, but at the same time I want to incorporate the whole idea into a website as well for extended functionalities. Although this idea will be a freeware type of client for all to enjoy, I also try to see if there would be a way to make this into a commercial product, but I rather see it work freely first and then later go down that path.
More on this later, I’m getting late for work.
The most troublesome part is that I don’t know where to start. I’m a bit worried that someone else would steal the idea, and therefor I need to find people that are locally based for further brainstorming.

I have recently started using Soulseek again, so if you’re a regular user, try adding diskawa to you buddy list and you’ll find me :)
For those who used to have me in their friends list, please change my old nickname there and use the new one. My Slsk is almost online 24/7.
Go Go Go.
